Mini India launches the 2021 Mini 3-door, Convertible and JCW, prices start from Rs 38 lakh
Mini 3-door hatch, Mini Convertible and Mini John Cooper Works (JCW) models will be sold as CBU models in the Indian market. The 2021 models are priced at Rs 38 lakh, Rs 44 lakh and Rs 45.50 lakh respectively. All three models carry some minor design changes along with updated LED headlights and taillights. Both the Mini 3-door and Convertible get updated LED headlights with integrated fog lights and turn indicators. The air intakes are now vertically stacked, in line with the new hexagonal radiator grille. The JCW carries similar changes with some sprinkle of sportiness in design.
On the inside, the new Mini range features a digital driver's display, a new multifunction steering wheel and an updated 8.8-inch infotainment system. Mini's wired optional package adds a navigation system and wireless charging while buyers can also opt for Apple CarPlay and Harmon Kardon speakers. The dashboard can be customised with either the famous chequered design or subtle aluminium. Furthermore, the 2021 Mini range is offered in 11 attractive colours and two interior upholstery choices.
Powering the 2021 Mini range is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that, in 3-door and Convertible, produces 192 PS and 280 Nm of torque. With the JCW, the power and torque output bumps to 231 PS and 320 Nm of torque. The 3-door hatch and Convertible models come mated to a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox whereas the JCW takes use of an 8-speed automatic gearbox. Mini 3-door and Convertible models take 6.7 and 7.1 seconds respectively to reach 100 km/h whereas the sportier JCW takes only 6.1 seconds for the same.
