New 2014 Land Rover Discovery to be shown at Frankfurt Auto Show 2013
Land Rover has revealed the new 2014 Land Rover Discovery. It will make its official world debut at next week's 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. The 2014 Discovery receives a new look, new badging, new fuel stretching technology, improved audio systems and a new range of driver assistance, comfort and safety features.
Changes to the exterior of the 2014 Discovery include, a redesigned front grille, front bumper, fresh headlamp assembly, new distinct format for DRLs and two new alloy designs. The optional 'Black Design Pack' remains available for 2014 models. It has new detailing and 20" black alloys. With the '4' being dropped from the moniker, the model will now be known as just 'Land Rover Discovery'. The 'Land Rover' badge on the bonnet has been replaced with 'Discovery' and the engine mark of 'SDV6' comes onto the front doors from the tail-gate.
The heart of the 2014 Discovery is the 3.0-litre SDV6 that dishes out 256PS and 600Nm of peak torque. It comes mated with an 8-speed automatic transmission from ZF. A 0-100 dash can be achieved in 8.8 seconds while topping out at 180kmph. Fuel efficiency numbers stand at 12.5kmpkl with CO2 emissions of 213g/km. Weight of the new model is 2,570 kg.
Wade Sensing, Blind Spot Monitoring, Closing Vehicle Sensing, Reverse Traffic Detection, T-junction Cameras and a 17-speaker, 825 Watts Meridian audio system are other added features.
