The world premiere of the all-new Bentley Continental GT Speed has been set on Tuesday, 25 June, at 16:00 BST. The grand tourer will enter its fourth generation, bringing in a new powertrain and a fresh design.

For the first time, a Bentley model, in the form of the upcoming Continental GT Speed, will come with a new "Ultra Performance Hybrid" powertrain. Not only that, it will also be the most potent Bentley in the history. Although the specification details are scarce at the moment, it will deliver 782PS and 1,000Nm of torque. Additionally, the new Continental GT Speed will offer an electric-only range of 80 km (50 miles).

That is not all, the fourth-gen Continental GT Speed will feature the new chassis technology comprising active all-wheel drive with torque vectoring, rear-wheel steering, an electronic limited slip differential, 48V active anti-roll control, and advanced dual-valve dampers. All this will create the most dynamic Bentley yet and the first 'everyday supercar' in the segment, says the brand.

While other carmakers choose Nurburgring aka the green hell to set new records, the new Continental GT Speed recently claimed an unofficial "underwater speed record", reaching its top speed of 335kmph (208mph) in the longest and deepest sub-sea road tunnel on the planet â€" the Ryfylke Tunnel in Norway. Bentley will release a film showcasing the tunnel run on the unveiling day.

Introduced in 2002, the Continental GT started the rebirth of Bentley. Then, the second-generation Continental GT was showcased in Paris in 2010, with deliveries starting in early 2011. The second-gen received the W12 at the launch, but it was later given a new 4.0-litre V8 option in 2012. The third and previous generation model come in 2018 and it was based on a new platform. Everything was claimed to be new in the new Continental GT, such as design, interior, engine, suspension, electrical architecture, and technology.
