BMW Motorrad India has introduced its new electric scooter, the CE 02, priced at Rs 4,49,900 (introductory, ex-showroom). The scooter is being assembled locally at TVS Motor Company's facility in Tamil Nadu, having been imported as a Completely Knocked Down (CKD) unit. Positioned below the previously launched CE 04, the CE 02 brings a unique design and urban-focused riding capabilities to the market.

BMW CE 02 Range, Charging, and Power Output

The BMW CE 02 is equipped with two removable 1.96 kWh battery packs, providing an ICAT-certified range of 108 km on a full charge. These batteries power an electric motor that produces 15 PS of power and 55 Nm of torque, enabling the scooter to accelerate from 0 to 50 km/h in a claimed three seconds. The top speed of the CE 02 is limited to 95 km/h.

The CE 02 comes with two standard riding modesâ€"Flow and Surf. An optional Highline package unlocks an additional Flash mode, which offers more aggressive power delivery and quicker acceleration. The standard charger takes over five hours to charge the batteries from 0 to 100%, while an optional faster charger, available with the Highline package, significantly reduces the charging time.

BMW CE 02 Features and Highlights

The CE 02 is equipped with a range of features designed for urban mobility. The standard variant includes two riding modes, single-channel ABS, a reverse mode, single disc brakes at both ends, keyless ignition like the R1300 GS, automatic stability control, recuperative stability control, anti-theft alarm preparation, full-LED lighting, a USB Type-C port, adjustable levers, smartphone connectivity, and a 3.5-inch colour TFT display.

For those looking for additional enhancements, the Highline package offers body stickers, gold-anodised front forks, a tricolour seat, and the Flash riding mode. Additional convenience features include heated grips, a smartphone holder, extended phone connectivity via switchgear, and a 1.5 kW fast charger.
