New BMW M2 launched in India; prices start at Rs 98 lakh
German automaker BMW has launched the all-new M2 in India with prices starting at Rs 98 lakh (ex-showroom). The brand has decided to sell the sporty two-door coupe as a Completely Built Unit (CBU).
New BMW M2: Engine, power outputs, and gearbox
Powering the BMW M2 is a 2,993cc, inline-six cylinder, twin-scroll turbocharged petrol engine that produces 460PS at 6,250rpm and 550Nm of torque between 2,650rpm and 5,870rpm. Interestingly, it comes mated to either a manual gearbox or an automatic transmission. However, the manual gearbox is available as an optional extra. With a manual setup, the M2 can sprint from zero to 100kmph in just 4.3 seconds, while it takes 4.1 seconds to cover the same distance with an automatic unit.

The key design highlights of the M2 include a distinctive frameless kidney grille, large and rectangular front air inlets, long bonnet, slanted roofline, rear diffuser, and quad exhaust tips. It also gets M dual-tone light alloy wheels -- 19-inch at the front and 20-inch at the rear. The same wheels with Jet Black finished are optional.
