New-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire unveiled ahead of November 11 launch
The brand-new Dzire from Maruti Suzuki has finally been unveiled. It will go on sale on November 11. Lxi, Vxi, Zxi, and Zxi+ are the 4 variants customers can take their pick from and pre-launch bookings are already underway for a token amount of Rs 11,000. Deliveries of the new car are expected to begin right after the launch.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Design
Dimensionally not much has changed over the outgoing model. So the Dzires still measure 3,995mm long, 1,735mm wide and 1,525mm high, with a 2,450mm wheelbase and a 163mm ground clearance. What has changed though is the design and for the the first time, the Dzire doesn't look like an elongated Swift. The new design features rectangular LED headlights on each side of a large grille at the front. Along with the updated fog light housing, the new Dzire also features a chrome strip at the bottom and a striking gloss black trim connecting the headlamps.
Look towards the car's profile and while it doesn't look all new, the new doors are more curved and the rising shoulders are quite evident. The top-spec trims will get 15-inch alloy wheels with diamond cuts. Significant changes are also made to the rear in the form of square-shaped tail lights with an LED Y motif within. As previously, a shark fin antenna is mounted on the top, and the tail lights are joined by a chrome strip.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Interior & Features
On the inside, the Dzire looks similar to its hatchback sibling but instead of a dark theme, the Dzire has a lighter tone. It's still a dual-tone cabin with beige being the primary shade and the fake wood trim on the dash is a premium touch.
The new Dzire's interior will have a 360-degree camera, automated climate control, rear air conditioning vents, a blind-spot monitor, a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, dual-tone upholstery, and a redesigned three-spoke steering wheel. A single-pane sunroof is something the Swift misses out on but the Dzire gets and is also the only car in its segment to do so. The top trims have six airbags, electronic stability control, ABS with EBD, a tyre pressure monitoring system, and ISOFIX mounts.
Maruti Suzuki Dzire: Powertrain
The Dzire also draws power from the Swift 1.2-litre 3-cylinder petrol engine. This powertrain can be had with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed AMT and can put out a maximum of 82PS and 112Nm of torque. A CNG version of the new Dzire is also expected to come along in a few months.
