Honda Amaze: Dimesion and Design

The new Honda Amaze measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,733 mm in width, and 1,500 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,470 mm. The boot space stands at 416 litres.

Honda has refreshed the design language of the sedan and takes a lot of bits from its older siblings, the City and Elevate. The large grille greatly favours the Amaze and the LED projector headlights with the striking eyebrow pattern LED DRLs wrap up the car's fascia. Even the chrome element atop the grille is a neat touch.

The side profile has a strong shoulder line and new 15-inch alloy wheels. The tail lights on the rear side look very similar to the ones on the City and the bumper is slightly retweaked as well. Customers can choose between 6 exterior shades - Platinum White Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Lunar Silver Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, and Metroid Grey Metallic.

Honda Amaze: Powertrain

The tried and tested 1.2-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine under the hood of the new Amaze is mated to either a CVT automatic gearbox or a 5-speed manual. This unit is good enough for 90PS and 110Nm of torque. Honda states that the manual version achieves 18.65 km/l of fuel efficiency, while the CVT automatic version achieves 19.46 km/l.

Honda Amaze: Interior and Features

The interior is almost identical to that of the Elevate and features a new, upscale cabin design over the outgoing car. Honda has also adopted a two-tone colour scheme which looks expensive. Features include an 8-inch free-standing touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), a semi-digital instrument cluster with a 7-inch MID, a multi-function steering wheel, connected car tech, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers, a wireless phone charger, USB Type-C charging port, engine start/stop switch, 6 speakers, cruise control, and powered ORVMs with auto-fold function.

6-airbags, Electronic stability program (ESP), ABS with EBD, braking assist, hill hold control, emergency stop signal, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, rearview camera with parking sensors, three-point seat belts, and reminders for every passenger are all included in the list of safety equipment. The new Honda Amaze is also the most affordable car on the market to offer ADAS features.
