New Hyundai Palisade breaks cover as the brand's flagship SUV
After six years on the market, Hyundai has unveiled the new Hyundai Palisade design in Korea, marking the start of a new generation. Hyundai released pictures of the new flagship SUV's exterior and inside and it appears to be a massive setup from the outgoing model and more in line with Hyundai's modern-day cars.
In addition to the stacked headlights made of five separate slats for the daytime running lights that surround the primary projectors, Hyundai has been using the same boxy concept across their SUVs. An even broader grille with a combination of wide and thin horizontal pieces takes the place of the segmented one.
With a big glasshouse, flared wheel arches, and a turbine-like design for the massive 21-inch alloy wheels, the new Palisade gains angular features on the sides. With the same stacked headlamp design, the lights at the back have a similar design to the outgoing model.
Additionally, the inside has been completely renovated. Within the dashboard, which still has a large number of tactile buttons, are two 12.3-inch displays. The centre console, which is isolated from the dash, seems to include solely cupholders and charging connections. The Palisade can accommodate nine people by converting the centre console into a middle seat for the front row.
The circular door handles and the pill-shaped A/C vents are evocative of Genesis, as is the example's brown upholstery. The Range Rover-style steering wheel and the wood inlays with ambient lighting are further elements that add to the high-end atmosphere.
A 2.5-litre turbocharged four-cylinder petrol engine will replace the present car's 3.8-litre petrol V6 and 2.2-litre turbo-diesel four-cylinder engines, however, specs have not yet been made public.
