New Jawa 42 FJ launched in India; prices start at Rs 1.99 lakh
Jawa Yezdi Motorcycles has introduced the new 42 FJ in India with a starting price of Rs 1.99 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the third motorcycle in its 42 Life line-up after the Jawa 42 and Jawa 42 Bobber. It comes in six distinct colour options and graphics that sets it apart from the other models. Bookings for the new Jawa 42 FJ are already open with customer deliveries are expected to start in the coming weeks.
New Jawa 42 FJ Design
The design of the new 42 FJ resembles its siblings, but there are a few changes that make stand out from the crowd. It gets a 12-litre fuel tank with an off-set fuel filler cap, unswept dual exhaust, fresh paint schemes, alloy wheels (wire-spoke wheels on the base-spec variant), all-LED lighting, and a USB charging port.
The motorcycle uses a dual cradle chassis with a wheelbase longer, at 1,440mm, than its siblings for better handling and stability while riding on the highway. It also has a higher ground clearance of 178mm. Additionally, it boasts several elements made from aluminium, such as a headlamp holder, foot pegs, and grab handles.
New Jawa 42 FJ Engine Specifications
Powering the Jawa 42 FJ is a 334cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine producing 29.2PS and 29.62Nm of torque. The motor is coupled to a six-speed gearbox.
New Jawa 42 FJ Highlights
Jawa has given it an all-digital instrument console, slip-and-assist clutch, dual-channel ABS, telescopic front forks, and dual rear shock absorbers. There is 320mm single disc at the front and a 240mm single disc at the rear. It is equipped with 100/90-18 section front and 140/70-17 section rear tyre, which is larger than the Jawa 42. Meanwhile, the new Jawa 42 FJ weighs 184kg and has a seat height of 790mm.
