New Maruti Suzuki India launch in May 2024

A few days ago, the new generation Maruti Suzuki Swift was spotted testing and now its India launch has been confirmed. The new hatchback will be launched in May 2024. The fourth generation Swift gets a new engine, a fresh design, and advanced features.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Design & Interior

The India-spec Swift is expected to carry over a similar design as the model sold in the international market, which appears sportier than the outgoing version. The new-gen hatchback measures 3,860mm in length, 1,735mm in width, and 1,495mm in height and has a wheelbase of 2,450mm.

On the inside, the new Swift is likely to come equipped with SmartPlay Pro+ nine-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an analogue instrument cluster with MID, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, artificial leather upholstery, wireless charging pad, and USB Type-C ports. Maruti could also offer it with a 360deg camera, heads-up display, cruise control, six airbags, ABS with EBD, hill hold assist, TPMS, and among others.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Engine specifications

In international markets, the brand offers a new 1.2-litre, three-cylinder, naturally aspirated Z-series petrol engine with the Swift that makes 82PS and 108Nm of torque. The Japan-spec model comes with a five-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. According to WLTP, the new Swift gives out a mileage of 23.4kmpl, while the Swift with mid-hybrid assistance returns a fuel efficiency of 24.5kmpl.

In contrast, the outgoing Maruti Suzuki Swift gets a 1.2-litre, inline four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine producing 90PS and 113Nm of torque. This motor is mated to a five-speed manual or a five-speed AMT transmission.

2024 Maruti Suzuki Swift: Price

The upcoming Swift is expected to be priced between Rs 6-6.40 lakh and go up to Rs 10.50 lakh. Upon launched, which is likely to in the coming months, it will take on the Hyundai Grand i10 Nios.
