On the occasion of its 100th anniversary celebration, Chinese-owned brand MG has pulled the wraps off a new car called the Cyber GTS at the Goodwood Speed of Festival. Officially called a concept, this electric sport car is a coupe version of the all-electric MG Cyberster roadster. The British carmaker has a rich history of offering coupe versions of its roadsters, such as the MGC and MGB GT.

According to MG, the Cyber GTS is a tribute to the MGC GTS Sebring, which achieved MG's highest-ever factory result at the 12 Hours of Sebring in 1968. The Cyber GTS will not be for only for the display at the MG stand, but will also show up at the Goodwood hill climb. Speaking of which, the model going for the famous hill climb wears a new British Racing Green paint job and is equipped with 19-inch wheels.

MG says the Cyber GTS "explores the further potential for MG creating a new future for a GTS model in the EV era and follows in the footsteps of the Cyberster which is the world's first open-top EV two-seater to go into production". The Cyber GTS resembles the design language of the Cyberster, but gets a sporty roofline with a raked rear window. Although the interior of the Cyber GTS has not been showcased, the car is likely to feature a 2+2 seating configuration.

Further, MG has not revealed any details about its powertrain but we expect the Cyber GTS to borrow the same rear-wheel drive setup from the Cyberster. In the roadster, the power output figures are rated at 340PS and 475Nm. It can go from zero to 100kmph in five seconds and tops out at 195kmph. The European-spec Cyberster gets a 77kWh battery pack across the board, offering a WLTP range of 508km for RWD and 444km for AWD.
