MG Motor India has teased the new Gloster Black Storm edition via a short video teaser. As the name suggests, the SUV is likely to feature an all-black treatment. Notably, the Gloster Black Storm could arrive as a special edition model based on the top-spec variant. Currently, the Gloster is available in two trim levels, namely Sharp and Savvy, across two drivetrain options. Also on offer is a six- or seven-seat layout option. Notably, the upcoming Gloster Black Storm may attract a marginally higher premium over the current variants.

MG Gloster Black Storm: Design

If the video teaser is to go by, the upcoming Gloster Black Storm will feature the same design as the on-sale model. The teaser confirms that this SUV edition will feature a badge on its fenders with Black Storm lettering. On top of that, it is expected to bear an all-black paint job and black-painted alloy wheels. MG is also likely to transform the chrome bits into a darker shade.

MG Gloster Black Storm: Interior

The current Gloster comes with a Luxury Brown interior tone. We expect MG to offer a new dark leather upholstery for the upcoming Gloster Black Storm edition. The upholstery could also feature contrast stitching. Meanwhile, the cabin is likely to carry all the bells and whistles, such as a large touchscreen infotainment system, a semi-digital instrument cluster, a 12-speaker sound system, powered front seats with heated/cooled function, PM 2.5 filter, and among others.

New MG Gloster Black Storm: Features, Specifications, and Safety

The Gloster boasts a raft of features, such as a panoramic sunroof, Level 1 autonomy, seven terrain and driving modes, 64 colours ambient lighting, over 75 i-Smart connected car features, smartwatch connectivity, 360deg camera, hill hold and descent control, ESP, traction control, six airbags, hands-free tailgate opening, driver seat massage function, front and rear parking sensors, and more.

MG Gloster Black Storm: Powertrain

The new Gloster Black Storm edition will get the same 1,996cc, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged diesel engine producing 215.5PS (161PS with 2WD) and 478.5Nm of torque (373.5Nm with 2WD). This motor comes mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission. The 2WD version comes with a single turbo, while the 4WD unit has a twin-turbo setup. It is to be noted that this engine was recently updated to meet with the new BS6 phase-2 norms.
