Mini Cooper 5-door: Highlights
The new Mini Cooper 5-door, unveiled recently, features short overhangs, a small bonnet, a long wheelbase, and large wheels. The design is minimalist yet retains classic Mini styling cues, with various colour options and dual-tone paint schemes. Tyre sizes range from 16 to 18 inches.
The interior has been updated to a minimalist, eco-friendly, and tech-savvy design, featuring a textile made from recycled polyester in dual-tone colours. The dashboard and door panels are covered in this textile. A large, slim circular OLED touchscreen display with Mini OS 9 is the centrepiece, and an optional heads-up display is available. The seven Mini Experience Modes allow for different lighting choices, with a projector behind the OLED displaying colours and patterns on the dashboard.
The Cooper 5-door offers two engine options: a 1.5-litre, three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 156PS and 230Nm of torque, and a 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine generating 204PS and 300Nm. It can accelerate from zero to 100kmph in eight seconds, while the 2.0-litre engine-equipped version takes 6.8 seconds. Their top speeds are 225kmph and 242kmph, respectively.
