New petrol Mini John Cooper Works makes global debut
After introducing the first-ever all-electric three-door John Cooper Works and John Cooper Works Aceman, Mini has taken the wraps off the new petrol JCW models. Customers can purchase the JCW either in conventional form or a convertible version.
New Mini JCW Engine Specifications
Powering the new Mini JCW is 2.0-litre, inline four-cylinder, twin-turbocharged petrol engine producing 231PS and 380Nm of torque. With this, this JCW can go from zero to 100kmph in 6.1 seconds, while the JCW convertible takes 6.4 seconds. Similarly, they provide a top speed of 250kmph and 245kmph, respectively. This motor is mated to a dual clutch automatic transmission.
New Mini JCW Design & Colours
The JCW pair features the signature styling cues, including a large octagonal grille in black, familiar LED headlamps and daytime driving lights, John Cooper Works logo, and wide air vents dominate the face. For optimum engine temperature control and improved aerodynamics, there are additional air inlets with vertical reflectors in red. Whereas, the rear gets an aerodynamically shaped spoiler, a diffuser, and centrally positioned tailpipe. Wheel sizes range between 17- and 18-inches.
New Mini JCW Interior
Mini offers 11 colours for the new JCW and that can also be had with a contrasting roof and mirror caps in the colours Chili Red or Jet black as an optional extra. Also on offer is an exclusive Copper Grey paint job for the JCW Convertible. Plus, the soft top comes in black or with a contrasting grey Union Jack pattern. It retracts completely in 18 seconds at speeds of up to 30kmph. The wind deflector then reduces unwanted air turbulence and wind noise while driving and can be locked in place behind the driver and passenger seats.
New Mini JCW Features
The JCW twins feature a modern and tech-laden cabin in red and black colour theme. The JCW sports seats are upholstered in black synthetic leather with multicoloured knitted fabric at the shoulders and red accent stitching. Additionally, there is a JCW sports steering wheel with paddle shifter, Harman Kardon sound system, an OLED round display, typical Mini toggle bar, and a wireless charging pad.
Both JCW cars come with 12 ultrasonic sensors and four surround view cameras that enable the driver assistance systems. The newly designed Mini Navigation uses 3D visualisation and Augmented View. Then, Parking Assistant Plus can find a parking space.
