New Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 launched; prices start at Rs 2.39 lakh
Royal Enfield has introduced the new Guerrilla 450 in India with prices starting at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom). The roadster, based on the same 450cc platforom as the Himalayan 450, comes three variants, Analog, Dash, and Flash across a range of colour options: Smoke, Playa Black, Gold Dip, Yellow Ribbon, and Brave Blue. The mid-spec and top-spec variants costs Rs 2.49 lakh and Rs 2.54 lakh (ex-showroom), respectively.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Styling
The Guerrilla 450 features fresh styling suitable for its character. However, there are traits of the Himalayan 450. While the main frame remains identical to the Himalayan 450, the sub-frame is different. As a result, the Guerrilla 450 has a shorter wheelbase. It gets a round headlamp, a sculpted fuel tank (which is smaller than the Himalayan 450), single-piece and scooped-out seat, a sturdy-looking bash plate, and alloy wheels.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Features & specifications
The brand has given it the Himalayan 450's four-inch all-digital colour TFT display, however, the base-spec variants get the analogue-digital cluster with optional Tripper navigation from the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. Other highlights of the Guerrilla 450 include all-LED lighting, ride-by-wire throttle, slip-and-assist clutch, dual-channel ABS, and single 310mm front disc with dual-piston calliper, single 270mm rear disc with single-piston calliper, 43mm telescopic front forks with 140mm wheel travel, riding modes, USB Type-C socket, and linkage-type rear monoshock with 150mm wheel travel.
The motorcycle weighs 174kg, but the kerb weight stands at 185kg. It has a ground clearance of 169mm, while the fuel tank capacity is 11 litres. Meanwhile, the Guerrilla features 17-inch wheels at both ends wrapped in 120/70-R17 front and 160/60-R17 rear tyres.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Engine specifications
The Guerrilla 450 is powered by the same 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine as the Himalayan 450 that delivers 40PS at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm. However, it has got a new engine mapping to provide a better low-end torque. Additionally, RE has swapped the 47 tooth rear sprocket of the Himalayan 450 to a smaller 45 tooth unit to increase the top speed of the Guerrilla 450. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Rivals
The Guerrilla 450 takes on the likes of the Hero Mavrick 440 (Rs 1.99 lakh - Rs 2.24), Honda CB350 RS (Rs 2.15 lakh - Rs 2.19 lakh), Bajaj Dominar 400 (Rs 2.31 lakh), Triumph Speed 400 (Rs 2.24 lakh), Harley-Davidson X440 (Rs 2.74 lakh - Rs 2.94 lakh), 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (Rs 2.92 lakh), and Triumph Scrambler 400X (Rs 2.54 lakh).
