New Royal Enfield Guerrilla India launch tomorrow
A day before the launch, the picture of the new Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450 has gone viral on the internet. The roadster motorcycle based on the 450cc platform will debut tomorrow, on Wednesday, 17 July. About a few weeks ago, Guy Martin, an Isle of Man rider, had teased the Guerrilla 450. Here is what should you expect from the upcoming Royal Enfield offering.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Design
The recently spotted production-spec Guerrilla 450 was painted in a dual-tone yellow and black shades - a signature colour scheme that Royal Enfield uses for select motorcycles. Additionally, the model designation and other logo on the fuel tank and side panels are written in purple colour.
Earlier reports suggested the Guerrilla 450 will be offered in two variants. While the base-spec may come with a semi-digital instrument cluster with Tripper turn-by-turn navigation (similar to the Meteor 650 or Shotgun 650), the top-spec variant could get the same all-digital display as the Himalayan 450. Moreover, Royal Enfield is likely to equip the Guerrilla 450 with Ceat's Gripp XL tyres wrapped in 17-inch wheels at the front and rear.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Features
Previous spy shots have indicated that the Guerrilla 450, although based on the 450cc platform might not feature upside down front forks but will offer telescopic front forks instead. In addition, the roadster is likely to boast ride-by-wire, all-LED lighting, slipper clutch, dual-channel ABS, and a single disc setup at both ends.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Engine specifications
The Guerrilla 450 will use the same 452cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine as the Himalayan 450. However, it is not clear yet whether it will produce the same power. This motor can generate 40PS at 8,000rpm and 40Nm of torque at 5,500rpm, and is paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450: Prices & competition
The upcoming Guerrilla 450 is expected to cost Rs 2.30-2.50 lakh. Once launched, it will compete against the Harley-Davidson X440 (Rs 2.74 lakh and Rs 2.94 lakh, ex-showroom), 2024 Husqvarna Svartpilen 401 (Rs 2.92 lakh, ex-showroom), KTM 390 Duke (Rs 3.10 lakh, ex-showroom), and Triumph Speed 400 (Rs 2.34 lakh, ex-showroom).
