New Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650: All you need to know

Royal Enfield has expanded its 650cc line-up with the new Interceptor Bear 650. Based on the Interceptor 650, it features a scrambler-style design, a handful of distinct components, and a different tune for the engine.

Royal Enfield INT Bear 650 Design

The Interceptor Bear 650 features vivid paint schemes, which include five colours: Wild Honey, Broadwalk White, Petrol Green, Two Four Nine, and Golden Shadow. With the new knobby tyres in sizes different from INT 650, a new single-piece seat, redesigned rear fender, new LED indicators and taillamp, plus a new two-into-one exhaust, it somewhat looks a scrambler. It is to be noted that the knobby MRF Nyrolex tyres fitted on spoke wheels are not tubeless.

Royal Enfield INT Bear 650 Engine

Although the Interceptor Bear 650 gets the same 650cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled SOHC engine 47.4PS at 7,150rpm and 56.5Nm of torque at 5,150rpm. However, the torque has gone up by eight per cent compared to the motorcycle it is based on. That said, the motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox.

Another new for the Interceptor Bear 650 is Showa 43mm upside-down front forks with 130mm travel, while the rear gets twin shock absorbers with 115mm travel. It comes with a 320mm single disc and 270mm single disc at the front and rear with a dual-channel and switchable ABS. Royal Enfield has equipped it with the four-inch colour TFT dash, like the Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450 with media controls. There is also a USB Type-C port and all-LED lighting. Meanwhile, the INT Bear 650 weighs 216kg (with 90 per cent of fluids) and ground clearance stands at 184mm. The fuel tank capacity is 13.7 litres.

The upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor Bear 650 is likely to sit between the Continental GT 650 and Shotgun 650 in terms of price. As a matter of fact, the Interceptor 650 is the most affordable model in the 650 line-up, while the Super Meteor 650 is the most expensive.
