Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 launched; prices start at Rs 3.49 lakh
Royal Enfield has launched its all-new Super Meteor 650 in India with prices starting at Rs 3.49 lakh (ex-showroom, India). The middleweight cruiser is available in the choice of three trim levels - Astral, Interstellar, and Celestial. The brand has also opened its order books for the motorcycle, while deliveries are scheduled to commence in February 2023. Notably, the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 has also gone on sale in the United Kingdom and Europe with starting prices of £6,799 (OTR) and â¬7,890 (MSRP, France), respectively.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Chassis and Mechanicals
Although the Super Meteor 650 is based on the same platform as the Interceptor 650 and Continental GT 650, it features a new frame and swingarm for a low centre of gravity, high-speed stability, and easy manoeuvrability. This cruiser also debuts 43mm front upside (USD) forks with 120mm travel for the first time in a Royal Enfield motorcycle. In addition, it gets a pair of shocks at the rear with 101mm of travel and 5-step preload adjustability.
The motorcycle weighs 241kg and has a ground clearance of 135mm. It offers a fuel tank capacity of 15.7 litres. Additionally, the two-wheeler maker has equipped the Super Meteor 650 with a dual-channel ABS with 320mm and 300mm discs at the front and rear, respectively.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Design
Along with the cruiser-style design language, it features sleek and contoured bodywork. The Tourer version also benefits from a few additional accessories, such as a touring windscreen, reprofiled touring seat, and pillion backrest. Other highlights include a round LED headlight, the first time in a Royal Enfield bike, alloy wheels â" 19-inch at the front and 16-inch at the rear, semi-digital instrument cluster with the Tripper navigation system, aluminium-plated gear switch, adjustable brake and clutch levers, a USB 2.0 Type-A socket, and dual exhaust pipes.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Colours
The Super Meteor 650, with a standard package, is available in five colour options: Astral Green, Astral Blue, Astral Black, Interstellar Grey, and Interstellar Green. On the other hand, Celestial Blue and Celestial the Super Meteor Tourer paint jobs are offered with the Super Meteor 650 Tourer.
Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650: Engine
Powering the cruiser is a 648cc, parallel-twin, air/oil-cooled SOHC engine that generates 47PS at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
