New Simple Dot One electric scooter India launch on 15 Dec
Simple Energy has announced the launch of a new and more affordable electric scooter, called the Dot One. The brand will launch the Dot One in India on 15 December, 2023, simultaneously commencing its bookings. Simple Energy says that it will position the new electric scooter as the sub-variant of its recently launched electric scooter, the Simple One. With this affordable e-scooter, Simple aims to attract new customers. Also, the company says that the new Simple Dot One poised to make a significant impact in the competitive market with a price tag below one lakh.
New Simple One Dot: Powertrain
Powering the new Simple One Dot will be a fixed 3.7kWh battery pack offering a claimed range of 160km, as per IDC. Expect the power output and charging time figures to be available at the launch. On the other hand, the Simple One comes powered by a 5kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor that produces 4.5kW (8.5kW at peak) and 72Nm of torque. With this, the electric scooter has an IDC range of 212km. Further, it provides a claimed top speed of 105kmph and can go reach to 40kmph from a standstill in 2.77 seconds.
New Simple One Dot: Features and specifications
The Simple Dot One comes with 30 litres of under-seat storage, which is the same as the One. The e-scooter boasts a touchscreen console with support to Bluetooth and app connectivity. It is also likely to feature all-LED lighting, ride modes, reversing assist, telescopic front forks, a rear monoshock, and perhaps a disc brake setup.
New Simple One Dot: Pricing and rivals
Since it will be a more affordable electric scooter than the One (which costs Rs 1.45 lakh, ex-showroom), we expect Simple One Dot to come with a price tag of Rs 99,999. Upon launch, it will compete against the Ola S1 X electric scooter.
