New Tata Nexon facelift spy shots reveal fresh details

After coming across dozens of spy pictures of the Tata Nexon facelift, a test mule of the SUV has been spotted testing again. The new batch of spy pictures now reveals some fresh details about one of the most sought-after sub-four meter SUVs in its segment.

Upcoming Tata Nexon facelift: Fresh details uncovered

While one of the recent spy shots reveals the new star-shaped alloy wheel design of the Nexon facelift, the most recent pictures uncover the new paddle shifters coming to the SUV as part of a mid-cycle facelift. If the Nexon EV facelift also received the same facelift update, the paddle shifter for the EV may be tweaked to adjust regenerative braking levels.

Upcoming Tata Nexon facelift: Exterior

With a fresh exterior, an LED light bar running across its width, LED headlights with a full-length light strip, reprofiled LED taillamps, redesigned radiator grille design, new bumpers, and LED fog lamps are likely to dominate its design language. Speaking of which, its overall design will draw inspiration from the Tata Curvv concept previewed at the Auto Expo 2023 in Delhi.

Upcoming Tata Nexon facelift: Interior

Inside, as seen in the spy photos, there will probably be a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a seven-inch fully digital instrument cluster, a new two-spoke steering wheel with paddle shifters, and a new gear selector. It might also get the electronic parking brake with auto-hold.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Powertrain

Powering the Nexon facelift is likely to be a new 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged TGDi petrol engine producing 125PS/225Nm compared to 120PS/170Nm of the current engine. The 115PS/260Nm 1.5-litre inline-four diesel could be carried forward. Transmission options may include a six-speed manual, a six-speed automatic, and a new dual-clutch automatic. Notably, the on-sale Nexon petrol and diesel versions already comply with the new BS6 phase-2 emission norms.

Tata Nexon Facelift: Launch, Price, and Rivals

We expect the Nexon facelift to arrive sometime later this year and attract a higher premium for the new look and additional features. While the prices of the current Nexon start at Rs 7.80 lakh and go up to Rs 14.50 lakh (both ex-showroom), the upcoming Nexon facelift could start at Rs 8-8.50 lakh and go up to Rs 15-16 lakh. Upon launch, it will continue to compete against the likes of the Mahindra XUV300, Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, and Maruti Suzuki Brezza.
