New Toyota Camry launched in India at Rs 48 lakh
The new Toyota Camry is now available in India at Rs 48 lakh (ex-showroom). This is the 9th generation of the Camry, which first debuted in November 2023. It is now available in India in just a single variant and this generational update comes with major changes on the outside and a whole revamp on the inside.
New Toyota Camry: Design
The TNGA-K platform serves as the base for the new Toyota Camry. The front looks much more appealing with a wider grille and sharper headlamps. The side profile displays its sloping roofline, arrow-straight shoulder lines, low-slung posture, and a new set of 18-inch alloy wheels. New and edgy C-shaped taillights and a Camry inscription on the boot complete the rear look of the car.
New Toyota Camry: Powertrain
The new Camry's 2.5-litre petrol engine and hybrid motor are employed under the hood. A 230PS combined output is sent to the wheel. Three driving modes are also available: Normal, Eco, and Sport. Toyota claims that this powertrain is 30 percent more economical than the outgoing car and power is sent to the front wheels via an eCVT gearbox.
New Toyota Camry: Interior & Features
On the Inside, the minimalism of the dashboard is visibly very Toyota. All the attention is quickly drawn to the 12.3-inch touchscreen (wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto), a 7-inch digital instrument cluster and a new three-spoke steering wheel. Features include 3-zone AC, 10-way powered front seats with memory and ventilated functions, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, a 10-inch head-up display and powered rear seats with reclining function.
Toyota has also brought along Toyota's Safety Sense 3.0 which is the Japanese brand's ADAS tech. Other safety features include 9 airbags, electronic stability control (ESC), a 360-degree camera, hill start assist, tyre pressure monitoring system (TMPS), and an anti-theft alarm.
