New Triumph 400cc model India launch on 17 Sept
It is not a secret that Triumph India is developing new models based on the popular 400cc platform which already underpins the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. In line with the plans, the British marque recently released a teaser, hinting at a new model or perhaps just a few fresh colours for the existing models. However, the teaser invite says "come join us as we unveil yet another modern classic".
The teaser also offers a glimpse of the upcoming motorcycle's tank and engine, which resembles the Speed 400. Then, the seat also appears to be different, plus with added stitching on the new model. However, the fuel filler cap is still offset like the Speed 400 and Scrambler 400X. As mentioned earlier, a few fresh colours also seem to be on the cards.
We expect it to come equipped with upside down forks, a gas-charged rear monoshock, a 300mm front disc, a 230mm rear disc, ride-by-wire, dual-channel ABS, slip-and-assist clutch, and traction control. It should also get the same part-digital cluster.
Powering the new model or variant is likely to be the 398.15cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine that makes 40PS and 37.5Nm of torque. This motor is mated to a six-speed gearbox.
