Since the Speed T4 is an affordable or the most inexpensive Triumph offering ever, it gets a range of downgrades over the Speed 400. First up, the 398cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled engine, although identical on the both models, features a new airbox, a different throttle body, a new engine map, and a smaller sprocket. Mated to the engine is a six-speed gearbox with an O-ring chain instead of X-ring on the Speed 400.

Unlike the Speed 400's upside down front forks, the Speed T4 gets a telescopic unit. Plus, it misses out on ride-by-wire and traction control. There is also a slightly sharper rake, a distinct exhaust note, non-radial MRF Zapper tyres with 140/70 section rear unit, and 10 per cent thicker foam on the seat, among others. The seat height stands at 806mm, while the weight has gone up to 180kg. Meanwhile, it comes in three colour options: Cocktail Red Wine, Phantom Black, and Metallic White.
