TVS is said to be gearing up for the launch of the Apache RTR 310 in India soon. The naked motorcycle will reportedly make its first public debut at the TVS MotoSoul event slated for 3 and 4 March in Vagator, Goa.

TVS Apache RTR 310: Design

The upcoming RTR 310 is likely to borrow styling cues from current Apache models. However, rumours have it that the naked motorcycle will also feature design elements similar to the Draken concept showcased at Auto Expo 2014. Overall, the new RTR 310 is likely to carry aggressive bodywork, including a sporty headlamp, sculpted tank, angular tank extensions, slightly swept-up and narrow rear section, and split grab rails, among others.

TVS Apache RTR 310: Engine

The RTR 310 is expected to be powered by the same 312.2cc, liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine as the RR 310. This motor makes 34PS at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm of torque at 7,700rpm. It comes mated to a six-speed gearbox. Meanwhile, TVS could also update the engine to not only make it BS6 stage 2 compliant but also to provide a different state of tuning.

While BMW sells the G 310 GS adventure tourer, G 310 R streetfighter, and G 310 RR sports bike based on the 310 platform, TVS has only sold a single motorcycle so far, the RR 310.

TVS Apache RTR 310: Mechanicals and Electronics

We expect the two-wheeler manufacturer to equip the RTR 310 with similar features as the RR 310, such as upside-down forks, mono shock, disc brakes at the front and rear, slipper clutch, ride-by-wire, and dual channel ABS. Further, TVS could offer a fully digital TFT console with Bluetooth connectivity, LED headlamp and taillamp, and ride modes.

TVS Apache RTR 310: Price

While the RR 310 comes with a sticker price of Rs 2.65 lakh (ex-showroom), the upcoming Apache RTR 310 is expected to be priced at about Rs 2.45 lakh, which would be a significantly cheaper option than its rival, the BMW G 310 R that costs Rs 2.80 lakh (ex-showroom).
