New TVS X electric scooter launched at Rs 2.50 lakh
TVS, an Indian two-wheeler manufacturer, has introduced the all-new X electric scooter in India at a price of Rs 2.50 lakh (ex-showroom, Bangalore). This marks its second offering into the all-electric two-wheeler market following the iQube EV. The X electric scooter is positioned as a performance-oriented option, boasting a unique design, a large display, modern connectivity features, and more. Bookings for the X have already commenced with a token amount of Rs 5,000, while deliveries are set to begin by the end of the year.
New TVS X Electric Scooter: Performance and Range
The X electric scooter draws power from a 4.4kWh battery pack paired with an electric motor capable of producing a peak power output of 11kW, while the continuous power output is rated at 7kW. This configuration enables the X to claim an IDC (Indian Drive Cycle) range of 140 km. Designed with performance in mind, the X accelerates from zero to 40kmph in a swift 2.6 seconds and reaches 60kmph from a standstill in 4.5 seconds. The scooter can achieve a top speed of 105kmph.
Charging the X is facilitated by a 3kW fast charger that can replenish the battery from zero to 50 per cent in just an hour. Alternatively, a regular charger takes approximately three hours and 40 minutes to charge the battery to 80 per cent from empty.
New TVS X Electric Scooter: Design
The design of the X electric scooter bears a strong resemblance to the Creon concept showcased a few years ago. Its sporty aesthetic is characterised by sharp lines, angular panels, a split seat arrangement, and a vertically stacked LED headlight. The X is underpinned by the Xleton hybrid aluminium chassis, touted to be 2.5 times stiffer than conventional two-wheelers.
New TVS X Electric Scooter: Features and Specifications
The X prioritises not only performance but also advanced features tailored for daily use. It boasts a Bluetooth-enabled 10.25-inch colour TFT display with TVS SmartXonnect connectivity. This screen features customisable ride themes, smartphone-style widgets, and even supports video playback and gaming. Navigation is enhanced by the NavPro navigation system. The scooter offers three riding modes (Xtride, Xonic, and Xtealth), OTA software updates, hill hold assist, cruise control, smartwatch connectivity, Xhield functions (speeding alert, energy recuperation, crash alert, geo fencing, live location sharing, tow and anti-theft alerts), and single-channel ABS.
The X is equipped with telescopic front forks, an offset rear monoshock, a 220 mm single front disc brake, a 195 mm single rear disc brake, and 12-inch tires. The scooter's adjustable brake levers and RAM air-cooled inlet contribute to its performance-oriented design.
