Nissan unveils the Hyper Force Concept at Japan Mobility Show
Nissan has shown the Hyper Force, an electric hypercar with a mind-boggling 1 MW of power. The Hyper Force concept is an all-electric supercar with a dual-motor all-wheel-drive drivetrain, resembling the EV version of a future GT-R vehicle. This supercar idea is intended to appeal to both virtual and actual drivers.
The exterior has a high aerodynamic performance that was designed in collaboration with the NISMO racing squad, resulting in significant downforce. Under the front hood, a two-tiered aerodynamic structure delivers both powerful downforce and excellent cooling performance. Meanwhile, the dual-level* rear diffuser optimizes airflow management.
Unique dynamic aero functionality is included on the front canards, front fender flip, and both ends of the rear wing, while a newly designed plasma actuator suppresses air separation to improve grip and decrease inner-wheel lift while cornering. Aerodynamics and brake cooling are aided by the lightweight forged carbon wheels.
The Hyper Force concept, according to Nissan, aims to "deliver the ultimate in driving pleasure while also offering high environmental performance and comfort for daily use," and to that end features an AWD powertrain capable of producing up to 1,360 PS and powered by the manufacturer's e-4ORCE all-wheel control technology.
The driver and front passenger chairs are made of lightweight carbon fibre and include four-point seat belts. An adaptable infotainment display appears to be straight out of a video game. The Hyper Force has two modes of operation.
Those modes are GT (grand touring) and R (racing), which may be a homage to the car's origins. The graphical interface, created in collaboration with Polyphony Digital (the company behind the Gran Turismo racing game series), delivers images as well as the most important information based on various modes.
Many of those screens disappear into the background in GT mode, the cabin goes blue, and a simpler set of displays takes over. The driver retains complete control over the temperature, radio, suspension, and stabilizer settings. In R mode, the Hyper Force illuminates the cabin with red ambient light, and dash panels stretch toward the driver to provide important racing stats.
Nissan president and CEO Makoto Uchida said: "All five concept cars showcased today are symbols of the future and embody our founding spirit of 'daring to do what others don't'. We have advanced our EV innovations, moving beyond mobility to create a more sustainable world. The EVs symbolize our future of creating a cleaner, safer, and more inclusive world for everybody without compromising on passions and dreams. Through the power of innovation, Nissan is creating a future where everyone can enjoy the excitement of mobility."
