Oben Rorr EZ electric motorcycle India launch on 7 Nov
Bangalore-based electric vehicle (EV) company Oben Electric is preparing to launch its latest electric motorcycle, the Rorr EZ, in India on November 7. The new model is expected to be an entry-level variant of the current Rorr EV, which is priced at Rs 1.50 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom).
Oben Rorr EZ: Design
Based on the teaser, the Rorr EZ is likely to retain the neo-retro styling of the Rorr with some modern touches. To differentiate it from the original, Oben may introduce the Rorr EZ with unique graphics and color options.
Oben Rorr EZ: Range & Charging
The existing Rorr model is powered by a 4.4kWh battery pack, offering a claimed range of 187km, with a PMSM motor producing 8kW of power and 330Nm of torque, reaching a top speed of 100kmph. The Rorr also supports Oben Plug fast charging, allowing it to charge up to 80% in two hours.
As a more affordable version, the Rorr EZ is expected to come with a smaller battery pack, delivering a range of around 120-140km. However, Oben has confirmed that the Rorr EZ will use the same LFP battery technology as the Rorr, which prioritizes safety and longevity over the more common NMC technology. The motor's power output may remain the same or be slightly reduced for better efficiency, but the charging compatibility is expected to be identical.
Oben Rorr EZ: Features & Specifications
The Rorr EZ may have fewer features compared to the Rorr, potentially including basic riding modes, a digital instrument panel, telescopic front forks, rear monoshock, single disc brakes on both ends, and all-LED lighting.
With these adjustments, the Rorr EZ is expected to be priced between Rs 1 lakh and Rs 1.20 lakh, significantly undercutting the cost of the standard Rorr.
