Team OD Published: December 29, 2015, 09:55 PM IST

While we're proud to say that our road testers and reviewers are not afraid to call a spade a spade, it's heartening to know that our readers too don't hold back. A lot of new cars and bikes this year created quite the stir and led to lengthy, impassioned discussions on our comments thread. Scroll down further to gauge the level of discourse on some our highest read articles.

1. Comparo: Fiat Abarth Punto vs Volkswagen Polo GT TSI vs Ford Figo 1.5 AT

Punto Abarth comparo (5)

We pitted Fiat's hot hatch, the Abarth Punto against what we thought were its closest rivals. Rishaad's verdict wasn't something the Fiat fans were very happy with. The result was over 100 comments, by far the highest this year. A fun read! Click here to read

2. 2015 Renault Kwid first drive review (India)

Renault Kwid 12

The Renault Kwid was one of the more important launches in 2015, and it had everyone's attention. So naturally, when we had our first go in this car, our readers had a lot of questions and opinions of their own as well. Click here to read

3. 2015 Mahindra TUV300 road test review (India)

Mahindra TUV300 (2)

Another important launch this year was the Mahindra TUV300. Bert got his hands on the TUV300 as soon as it was launched and had a nice long drive to Mumbai, following which he typed out a long and exhaustive review of the vehicle. The review, along with the naturally polarising looks of the Mahindra drew quite a bit of attention from our readers. Our editor-in-chief joined in the discussion and was happy to answer all the questions. Click here to read

4. BMW G 310 R debuts first motorcycle of the BMW-TVS collaboration

BMW G 310 R (K03)

Everyone was quite excited about the BMW G 310 R because it will soon enter the Indian market, and when it does, it will take on the crowd-favourite, the KTMs. Shumi gave us a comprehensive brief on all the aspects of the G 310 R - we were flooded with comments that ranged from queries about the price to the obvious comparison with the Austrians. Click here to read

5. Bajaj Pulsar RS200 first ride review

KTM RC200 vs Yamaha R15 vs Bajaj Pulsar RS200 (3)

There was quite a bit of hype around the Bajaj Pulsar RS200 as it was the company's first attempt at a supersport motorcycle. Shumi's first ride review got a lot of mixed opinions from our readers on how they felt about the bike. Click here to read

6. New Honda CB Unicorn 160 review

Honda CB Unicorn 160

Honda updated its commuter offering with a new design and revised styling and re-branded it as CB Unicorn 160. More importantly, the engine was tweaked for a smoother and refined performance. But
then did all of that help change the perception of the 'commuter'? Rishaad's review reveals it all. But the responses we received were even more revealing. Click here to read

7. Comparison: Renault Lodgy vs Toyota Innova

Renault Lodgy vs Toyota Innova (14)

Unrivalled in the MPV domain, the Toyota Innova was the best in terms of a family mover. Toyota's well spread service network and reliability were the key reasons for it. The only thing that seemed unfair was its pricing. So Renault decided to take on the Innova with an MPV built on its most popular SUV Duster platform and priced it very competitively. Halley's comparison of the two had a lot of Toyota fans defending the Innova - fiercely. Click here to read

8. Comparison: Tata Bolt vs Hyundai Elite i20 vs Fiat Punto Evo vs Volkswagen Polo

Tata Bolt vs Hyundai Elite i20 vs Fiat Punto Evo vs Volkswagen Polo (7)

Few cars generate the kind of impassioned responses like a Fiat (see 1.). Many wrote off the comparison as "unfair" and even went on to declare the Bolt a clear misfit in this company. Alan's pick of the three, though, had everyone surprised. Click here to read

9. 2015 Hero Xtreme Sports review

Hero Xtreme Sports

Hero motorcycles score great points in terms of fuel efficiency and reliability. They might not look fancy or command performance to burn the tarmac, but the audience to which they cater to don't see that as a hindrance. Lijo's review explains it all. And raised quite a few questions. Click here to read

10. Yamaha FZ-S Fi version 2.0 long term review: After 10 months and 13,270km

Yamaha FZ-S

Yamaha's bike for the young at heart left quite an impression on Jatin as he happily clocked 13,270km on it. The FZ-S impressed everyone with its styling and performance but then with the launch of the Suzuki Gixxer, it lost some of its fan following. And that shows in the comments thread. Click here to read
