Only 38 units of the track focused Aston Martin Valiant will be manufactured
Aston Martin has unveiled a new ultra-rare road-legal track car of which only 38 units will be produced. The Aston Martin Valiant is a personal request from Fernando Alonso, Aston Martin Aramco Formula One team driver. The car will make its public debut at the 2024 Goodwood Festival of Speed and is inspired by Aston Martin Valour.
The Valiant is extremely special in every aspect. Exotic materials and F1-inspired architecture are paired with a twin-turbocharged 5.2-litre V12 engine to minimize the vehicle's total weight and maximize speed. The Valiant will have a six-speed manual transmission with a horsepower and torque output of 745PS and 753Nm. This means the Valiant has an extra 30PS than the Valour while the torque output remains the same.
In addition to having a more potent V12, the Valiant is lighter as a result of many weight-saving techniques. The weight is reduced by 3 kg thanks to the 3D-printed rear subframe. Additionally, it has a magnesium torque tube, which weighs 8.6 kg less than a standard tube. Its additional 21-inch magnesium wheels help to shed an additional 31 kilograms off its weight. Not to mention, a lithium-ion battery reduces its weight by an additional 11.5 kg.
Additionally, Valiant has standard-fit Carbon Ceramic brakes with front and rear measurements of 410mm x 38 mm and 360mm x 32 mm, respectively, providing exceptional fade-free stopping power.
The Multimatic Adaptive Spool Valve (ASV) dampers on the Valiant, according to Aston Martin, are the most significant design modification. These provide operating control bandwidth and motorsport-level control, which are often unavailable in the aftermarket and found exclusively on the most elite, dynamic, and high-end automobiles.
The cutting-edge ASV suspension technology enabled Aston Martin engineers to precisely modify the ride and handling characteristics of the Valiant in less than six milliseconds. To fully use the Valiant's performance potential, the firm has recalibrated the Track, Sport, and Sport+ driving modes.
There will only be 38 Valiants' made worldwide throughout its very restricted production lifetime. The automobile has a more aggressive appearance than the already powerful Valour. Numerous aerodynamic upgrades have been added to it, such as a massive diffuser, a fixed rear wing, and a redesigned front end with a wide splitter. The whole bodywork is composed of carbon fibre and has been modified to enhance airflow.
Four-point harnesses, a set of Recaro Podium bucket seats, and a half-cage are among the race-ready accessories fitted to the Valiant's cabin. Additionally, there is an exposed shifter linkage, Alcantara trim, and carbon fibre inside. Aston claims that by using a new weighted knob designed specifically for the Valiant, the shift sensation and effort have been improved.
