Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is the most potent SUV from the brand
In recent years, the Porsche Cayenne has experienced various strong variants, most notably this third-generation model. The new Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid is the SUV's most powerful version ever, surpassing the Turbo GT.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: Design
The Turbo E-Hybrid sports a distinct front fascia as well as bigger air intakes. Quad exhausts and red brake calipers round out the aesthetic, while standard equipment from the 2024 Cayenne series, including as matrix LED headlights and enhanced interior electronics, make an appearance.
The back of a Cayenne has always been more busy, but the style is tidy here. A sleek LED taillight extends across the width of the tailgate, and the bottom is completed with quad exhaust pipes.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: Powertrain
An "extensively reworked" twin-turbocharged 4.0-litre V8 petrol engine produces 599PS, while an electric motor produces 176PS. The overall combined output is 739PS and 950Nm of torque. A 25.9kWh battery inside the boot provides an electric-only range of 82km, which is much greater than the previous Cayenne Turbo S E-Hybrid's 30km.
The SUV accelerates from 0 to 100 kmph in 3.7 seconds and has a peak speed of 295 km/h. Adaptive air suspension is standard, allowing the suspension's rebound and compression settings to be adjusted. Of course, there's also a slew of additional tricks up its sleeve, including as torque vectoring, dynamic chassis management, and rear axle steering, all of which are available as options and help to provide a poised dynamic ride and handling.
Porsche Cayenne Turbo E-Hybrid: Interior
The cockpit relies significantly on technology, with three screens in total, including an optional passenger display. The gear lever has been relocated to the dashboard, making more room available around the centre console.
The Cayenne Turbo receives Porsche's most recent and simplified infotainment system, which includes a snappy and simple-to-use 12.3-inch touchscreen situated in the centre of the dashboard. The system is easier to use than earlier versions, thanks to a customized home menu and several individual options. Porsche Connect Plus is included on every Cayenne Turbo, and it features a 4G LTE mobile Wi-Fi hotspot, Apple CarPlay, and Android Auto. Although costly, we prefer the optional Burmester audio system, which delivers 1,455 watts through 21 speakers.
Currently, the Porsche Cayenne SUV is offered in India at a starting price of Rs 1.35 crore for the base variant while the range-topping Cayenne Coupe Turbo GT is priced at Rs 2.57 crore (ex-showroom).
