Porsche Panamera gets GTS and Turbo S E-Hybrid models
Two new performance-focused models have just been added to the freshly revised Porsche Panamera lineup. The Panamera GTS model and the top-of-the-line Turbo S E-Hybrid are finally here. The S E-Hybrid model puts out supercar-level numbers and happens to be the new record holder for the fastest top-class saloon with a combustion and hybrid engine on the Nurburgring Nordschleife with a time of 7:24.172 minutes.
The 4.0-liter twin-turbo V-8 engine is shared by the new GTS and Turbo S E-Hybrid variants. The GTS doesn't feature a hybrid setup though. It still puts down 500PS which is 20PS more than the previous model and that is good enough for 0 to 100 kmph in just 3.8 seconds. Top speed is rated at 302 kmph.
The standard equipment on the Panamera GTS is a sports exhaust system. In addition, it features an electronically controlled PTV Plus differential lock, a 10 mm lower body with stiffer anti-roll bars, a dual-chamber, two-valve air suspension with PASM, and a reduced basic spring rate.
As an E-Hybrid, the 2025 Panamera Turbo S produces 782PS and 1,000Nm of torque with a 0 to 100kmph time of 2.8 seconds. It has an integrated motor unit in its 8-speed automated gearbox and a tiny battery pack to provide an electric boost. The Panamera can go up to 88 kilometres on zero-emission battery power thanks to the e-motor's 190PS, which it generates from a 25.9kWh battery pack. Additionally, an 11kW AC charger may be used to charge it.
Many of Porsche's innovative chassis components, such as the Active Ride Control system, are installed as standard. This technology eliminates the need for conventional anti-roll bars by using separate hydraulic pumps that are capable of independently counteracting body movement. Standard equipment includes the biggest carbon ceramic brakes at 440mm and ten-piston callipers made by Porsche, along with 21-inch centre-lock forged wheels covered in Michelin Cup 2 tyres.
The interior of the car comes with a 12.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, and a 10.9-inch passenger display as an option. There are fewer physical controls than the previous Panamera, and many climate-control functions have been relocated to the touchscreen. The air vents may be adjusted electrically, and the gear selector has been relocated from the centre console to a toggle button next to the steering wheel.
