Power Global introduces the eZee swappable battery for light mobility vehicles

The eZee swappable battery for light mobility vehicles was introduced by Power Global, a leading producer of high-performance clean energy and mobility technologies for daily applications. The eZee Li-ion battery module will first be targeted at auto-rickshaws, a $16 billion industry that is currently underserved.

Power Global was founded by Romeo Power's co-founder and former SpaceX Porter Harris and international auto industry veteran Pankaj Dubey with a mission to provide electric vehicle and clean energy products to global markets that have been left behind in the world's push toward electrification.

The eZee from Power Global provides a straightforward, low-cost path to EV adoption for auto-rickshaw drivers. Traditional electric vehicles have a high initial cost of ownership, but Power Global overcomes this problem with their low-cost energy-as-a-service membership model. Drivers receive a swappable eZee battery module as part of this unique subscription service, which is supported by Power Global's zero-maintenance lifetime service warranty.

"We are on a mission to improve access to clean energy solutions in India and other emerging markets by sharing our collective years of expertise in bringing affordable battery technology to market," said Pankaj Dubey, co-founder and CEO of Power Global's India subsidiary. "While the eZeeTM will give light mobility vehicles new life, it also represents a path to help build local economies with direct and indirect job creation, while supporting evolving regional environmental goals, such as India's FAME II mandates," he added.

Power Global's first facilities are an in-country battery production plant in Greater Noida, India, and a research and development lab and battery manufacturing facility in Pasadena, California, both of which will focus on new product innovations for electric vehicles and stationary storage applications.

Power Global will introduce its first line of Retrofit Kits to convert diesel- and petrol-fueled auto-rickshaws into zero-emission electric vehicles after the debut of the eZee battery module. Future product lines will be powered by the swappable eZee battery module, which will include applications for second-life stationary storage and the automotive industries.

Drivers may recharge the module at home or switch it for a fully charged battery in less than a minute at Power Global's handy kiosks. The eZee battery module from Power Global is presently available for pre- as a subscription, with initial distribution in Greater Noida, on the outskirts of New Delhi.
