Pre-Booking for Kia Sonet facelift set open from December 20
Kia India will begin taking reservations for its all-new Sonet facelift in the nation tomorrow, December 20, at midnight. The South Korean carmaker is expected to announce the prices of the updated sub-four-metre SUV early next year.
Kia India has reinstated the 'K-Code' priority booking scheme, which allows customers to bypass the waiting line. Customers may obtain the K-Code from any current Kia customer and use it to reserve through the Kia India website and the 'MyKia' app on December 20th, 2023, from 12 AM to 11:59 PM. The new Sonet deliveries will begin in January 2024, except the Diesel MT models, which will begin in February 2024.
Tae-Jin Park, MD & CEO, Kia India, said, "We are thrilled to announce the commencement of pre-booking for our highly anticipated second bestseller, the Sonet. This innovative model has played a pivotal role in establishing our presence in India, following the remarkable success of the Seltos. A heartfelt thank you to our existing customers for their unwavering faith in the brand, contributing significantly to Kia's growth journey. The new Sonet premium value proposition at the back of highest segment-leading connected features, a refreshed design, and the reintroduction of manual transmission in the diesel variants will definitely garner even more admiration from our valued customers."
The refreshed Sonet will be available in seven trim levels: HTE, HTK, HTK+, HTX, HTX+, GTX+, and X-Line, with 11 exterior colour options. Glacier White Pearl, Sparkling Silver, Gravity Grey, Aurora Black Pearl, Intense Red, Imperial Blue, Clear White, Pewter Olive, and Matte Graphite are among the monotone tones. The dual-tone colors, on the other hand, are Intense Red and Glacier White Pearl with a black roof.
The Kia Sonet facelift is powered by three engines: a 1.5-litre diesel, a 1.2-litre NA petrol, and a 1.0-litre turbo-petrol. The new Sonet comes with five transmission options: a five-speed manual, a six-speed manual, a six-speed iMT, a seven-speed DCT, and an automated torque converter unit.
The pre-facelift Sonet was priced between Rs 7.79 lakh and Rs 14.89 lakh (ex-showroom). We expect the new prices to start from Rs 7.99-8.20 lakh and go up to Rs 15.20-15.60 lakh. Upon launch, it will take on the Tata Nexon facelift, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, and the upcoming Mahindra XUV300 facelift.
