Production-ready Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 spotted
It has been only a couple of weeks when the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 test mule was spotted and now a new Himalayan 450 test mule has appeared on the internet again. There is no doubt the all-new Himalayan 450 from RE has arguably become the most awaited motorcycle of 2023. Like the previous test mules, this Himalayan 450 carries the identical bodywork, which is seems production ready.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Launch, Price, Variants, and Rivals
The Himalayan 450 launch is just around the corner, probably just a short few months away. We expect the RE Himalayan 450 to cost about Rs 2.50 lakh or above. Royal Enfield might offer it with a couple of variants similar to its other new models. The ADV could also be available with a new range of accessories, such as a different seat, handlebar, luggage system, and so on. Once launched, the Himalayan 450 will compete against the recently launched 2023 KTM 390 Adventure with spoke wheels and adjustable suspension, along with Yezdi Adventure and BMW G 310 GS.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Design
Similar to earlier test mules, the recently spotted Himalayan 450 is covered with sheets to hide its production-spec design and other components. The key highlights of the upcoming RE Himalayan 450 will include a round headlight, a reasonably tall windscreen, split seat, larger and muscular fuel tank, and high-mounted beak-like fender. More importantly, as seen in the most spy photos, the rider will probably to have an upright and relaxed posture.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Engine and Power Output
Powering the all-new Himalayan 450 will be a new 450cc single-cylinder engine that Royal Enfield will also utilise for its other 450cc models. Above all, it will be the first RE to feature a liquid-cooled motor. In terms of power outputs, this engine could produce north of 40PS and 45Nm of torque. As compared, the KTM 390 Adventure makes 44PS and 37Nm of torque. It is also likely to be paired with a six-speed gearbox.
Royal Enfield Himalayan 450: Specs and features
The Himalayan 450 is expected to get the Showa USD front forks and a rear mono shock setup. Both units could come with rebound, pre-load, and compression adjustability like the 2023 390 Adventure. Further, the ADV is likely to feature 320mm front single-disc and 300mm rear single-disc taken from the Super Meteor 650. Another notable addition will be the new switchgear. The Himalayan 450 will get reworked and sturdier switchgear than available on the Super Meteor 650, 2023 Interceptor 650, 2023 Continental GT 650, Meteor 350, and Hunter 350.
The list of features for the Himalayan 450 may include all-LED lights, Bluetooth-enabled display, a slipper clutch, multiple ride modes, traction control, and switchable dual-channel ABS, among others.
