Production-ready TVS Apache RTR 310 spotted testing
The upcoming TVS Apache RTR 310 has been spotted once again, this time with production-spec bodywork, hinting at its imminent launch. In fact, the brand has confirmed that a new offering is set to be launched on September 6, 2023, which is likely to be the new Apache RTR 310. Here's a comprehensive overview of what you need to know about this upcoming streetfighter from TVS.
TVS Apache RTR 310: Design
From the spy photos, the Apache RTR 310 showcases a sporty design with an aggressive bodywork. Notably, the riding posture appears to differ from the RR 310, likely due to a wider handlebar rather than the clip-on unit seen on the RR 310. The bike features a sculpted fuel tank, angular tank extensions, dual front lights, LED indicators, a side-slung exhaust reminiscent of the RR 310, split seats, a tyre-hugger with a registration plate holder and indicators, engine cowls, and a new taillamp. While the switchgear seems to be borrowed from the RR 310, the instrument console appears to be a horizontal unit instead of the vertical display on its sibling.
TVS Apache RTR 310: Features and Specs
The Apache RTR 310 is expected to share features with the RR 310, such as Bluetooth connectivity, dual-channel ABS, ride-by-wire, slipper clutch, traction control, and riding modes. In terms of hardware, it could be equipped with upside-down front forks, a rear monoshock, a 300mm front disc brake, and a 240mm rear disc brake. It's possible that the RTR 310 could be part of TVS' Build to Order program, similar to the RR 310.
TVS Apache RTR 310: Engine and Gearbox
Powering the RTR 310 is anticipated to be the 312.2cc, single-cylinder, liquid-cooled DOHC engine paired with a six-speed gearbox. This engine is expected to produce 34PS at 9,700rpm and 27.3Nm of torque at 7,700rpm.
TVS Apache RTR 310: Prices
The TVS Apache RTR 310 is likely to be priced around Rs. 2.50-2.60 lakh. For comparison, the Apache RR 310 is priced at Rs. 2.72 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Competing models such as the BMW G 310 R and KTM 390 Duke are priced at Rs. 2.85 lakh and Rs. 2.97 lakh (both ex-showroom), respectively. Not to forget, the new Triumph Speed 400 comes with an attractive sticker price of Rs 2.33 lakh (ex-showroom).
