A Chennai-based EV start-up Raptee HV has launched India's first high-voltage electric motorcycle, called the T30. This has been priced at Rs 2.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and customer deliveries will start in Bangalore and Chennai in January 2025. The electric vehicle (EV) is said to be developed using technology prevalent in electric cars globally and its performance is comparable to that of a 250-300cc internal combustion engine (ICE) counterparts. The EV is available in four colours: Horizon Red, Arctic White, Mercury Grey, and Eclipse Black.

The Raptee HV T30 supports CCS2 standard charging, which is usually used to charge electric cars. With this, the electric motorcycle is compatible with the existing 13,500 CCS2 car charging stations in India.

The T30 EV boasts an Industrial Development Corporation (IDC) estimated range of about 200km and a real-world range of 150km on a single charge. It can go from 0 to 60kmph in under 3.5 seconds. The battery pack used in the EV is IP67 rated and warranty comparable to that of electric cars - eight years or up to 80,000km.

The motorcycle is equipped with advanced software features and Raptee has developed its in-hose electronics to support HV technology with a custom-built operating system based on an automotive-grade Linux platform.
