Reports: Tata Curvv Global NCAP crash test result leaked before launch
According to the latest media reports, both the Tata Curvv ICE and Curvv EV have achieved a five-star safety rating in the Global NCAP and Bharat NCAP crash tests. The Curvv has become the latest offering from Tata Motors to score the highest safety rating, joining the ranks of the Punch, Punch EV, Nexon, Nexon EV, Harrier, and Safari. The all-electric crossover coupe is set to go on sale in India on 7 August.
Tata Curvv EV: Interior
In addition to the Global NCAP ratings, interior details of the Curvv EV have also been leaked. Its cabin bears similarities to the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. The interior features a new steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a capacitive touch panel for air conditioning, a Range Rover-inspired gear selector, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Previously leaked details suggest that Tata will equip the Curvv EV with a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument panel with on-screen maps, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Arcade.EV and third-party app support, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad.
Nexon EV
The feature list could also include a 360-degree camera, iRA 2.0 connected car tech, four-disc brakes, parking sensors at both ends, six airbags, ESP, Level 2 autonomy with driver drowsiness detection, drive modes telematics, hill hold and descent control, ISOFIX child anchor points, automatic headlamps and wipers, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities, LED headlights and taillights with welcome and goodbye animations, puddle lamps, a blind spot monitor, a 45W USB Type-C socket, and more.
Tata Curvv EV: Range, Battery & Charging
It is expected that Tata will offer two battery pack options similar to the Nexon EV and Punch EV. The battery capacity could range from around 40-65kWh, providing a maximum range of 500-520km. The crossover coupe may support up to 11kW AC charging and up to 80kW DC fast charging.
Tata Curvv EV: Pricing
The prices of the Curvv EV are expected to range between Rs 16-18 lakh and go up to Rs 22-24 lakh. Once launched, the Curvv EV will compete with the MG ZS EV and BYD Atto 3.
During our recent visit to the Tata Motors Design Tech Centre in Coventry, the United Kingdom, we interacted with Vivek Srivatsa, COO of Tata Passenger Electric Mobility, and Martin Uhlarik, VP and Head of Global Design at Tata Motors. Mr Srivatsa confirmed that the Curvv ICE models will be launched during the festival season. Additionally, the Harrier EV will arrive in FY2024, and the market launch of the Sierra EV is planned for FY2026.
