Rolls-Royce has introduced its third ultra-luxury coachbuilt roadster, the Rolls-Royce Droptail Arcadia. The automobile was recently unveiled in Singapore and follows in the footsteps of the Amethyst and La Rose Noire. The name is derived from the place 'Arcadia', which was renowned in ancient Greek mythology as 'Heaven on Earth'.

Rolls-Royce Coachbuild designers created a natural duotone colour scheme for the Arcadia Droptail. The main body colour is solid white with aluminium and glass particles. Rolls-Royce engineers created a more faceted, brilliant metallic by increasing the size of aluminium particles.

Unlike the other three Droptails, the lower section of the Arcadia's carbon fibre tub is painted the same solid Bespoke silver colour rather than being wholly or partially visible. The automobile is equipped with 22-inch alloy wheels that have been thoroughly mirror-polished. The design is reported to be influenced by the architecture of its commissioner's favourite destinations, including Indonesia, Singapore, and Vietnam.

The Arcadia Droptail's interior has a gorgeous Santos Straight Grain wood finish, which is known for its distinctive interlocking grain pattern. However, using this high-density hardwood proved difficult due to its propensity to rip during milling. Rolls-Royce overcomes this challenge by creating a unique lacquer that ensures the wood's durability even in tropical conditions.

The Santos Straight Grain wood runs throughout the cabin, including the aerodynamically designed aft deck portion. The dashboard incorporates Rolls-Royce's trademark clock design, which has a complicated geometric guilloch pattern with 119 facets, honouring the company's 119-year history. Each hour sign, known as 'chaplets,' is only 0.1mm thick, demonstrating careful attention to detail.

The Rolls-Royce Arcadia Droptail is powered by a classic twin-turbocharged 6.75-litre V12 petrol engine that produces a whopping 601PS and 840Nm. This V12 is paired with an 8-speed automated transmission, which pushes it from 0 to 100 kmph in around five seconds.
