Since its introduction in 2018, the Rolls Royce Cullinan has received its first-ever mid-cycle update, bringing in refreshed fascia and revamped interior. While the profile and rear have been essentially carried over, the front fascia has a bold new look. Much like BMW has come out with some risky designs in recent years, the British luxe brand dares to be different as well. Meanwhile, Rolls Royce has also updated the Cullinan Black Badge.

Rolls Royce Cullinan facelift: Design

To begin with, the headlights of the Cullinan facelift have gained a pair of "fangs" since the LED daytime running lights extended well into the bumper to form an L-shape. The imposing Pantheon grille is now illuminated, whereas a brushed stainless-steel protective plate has been added at the back. There is also a new front bumper. In addition, the ultra-luxury SUV gets 23-inch wheels for the first time since the model was launched four years ago. The British marque has given it a new paint job, called Emperador Truffle, inspired by brown marble.

Rolls Royce Cullinan facelift: Interior

On the inside, the interior layout appears familiar. However, there are a few changes. RR's iconic Spirit of Ecstasy figurine now embellishes the dashboard and sits below the analog clock. The upper section of the dashboard also features a pillar-to-pillar glass panel. Moreover, the Cullinan facelift replaces its old instrument cluster with a new all-digital driver display that was introduced with the Spectre.

Further, Rolls Royce offers the Cullinan facelift with Duality Twill â€" a kind of upholstery made from bamboo fibres. Interestingly, there are 2.2 million stitches equivalents of 11 miles of thread, which need 20 hours to complete. The base twill textile is available in Lilac, Black, and Chocolate, while the thread comes in 51 colours.

Like the Ghost and Spector, the Cullinan boasts an illuminated dashboard fascia panel, featuring an illuminated Cullinan wordmark and a unique Cityscape graphic inspired by the skyscrapers of the world's megacities at night. This is made using a specially developed technique whereby 7,000 dots are laser-etched onto the rear of the darkened and toughened security glass, each at minutely differing angles and dimensions to create the perception of depth.

Available for the first time on a series model, for Cullinan facelift, Rolls Royce's team has created a pattern inspired by the constantly changing shapes and shadows of the clouds over the home of Rolls-Royce at Goodwood. It comprises up to 107,000 0.8- and 1.2-millimetre perforations. A single craftsperson checks each individual perforation to ensure absolute uniformity.

The installation of internet connectivity allows clients to enjoy a Wi-Fi hot spot connection and independent streaming for each screen. For the first time in Cullinan, Bluetooth headphones of any type can be paired with the rear seat infotainment system, or clients can enjoy the marque's exceptional 18-speaker Bespoke Audio system, which benefits from the latest generation 18-channel 1400-watt amplifier.

Last but not least, the updated Cullinan continues with the 6.75-litre, twin turbocharged, V12 petrol mill married to an automatic transmission. This engine delivers 571PS and 850Nm of torque.
