Scout Traveller SUV & Terra Pickup revealed
The Volkswagen Group purchased the Scout name rights in 2020 intending to relaunch Scout Motors with headquarters in the United States. Volkswagen has now fully revived the Scout brand as an electric SUV and pickup truck, 44 years after the last one was produced. The new Scouts can accommodate tyres up to 35 inches in diameter and are constructed on a new unique body-on-frame platform. The trucks will include "robust" suspension choices, mechanical locking differentials in the front and rear, and a front anti-roll bar disconnect feature.
The Traveler and Terra's exterior features include a smooth surface, a wraparound windscreen, an upswept rear window line kink, and a trendy contrast-coloured roof, all of which are typical of current truck design. Featuring bulky bumpers that are detached from the main body and black rectangular front and rear masks with perimeter lighting and horizontal light blades, the upright front and rear ends pay homage to the original Scout.
Two 120-volt power outlets and one 240-volt outlet will be installed in the Scout Terra's 5.5-foot bed. Up to a 35-inch full-size spare tyre may be stored in the Traveler's built-in spare tyre carrier. Customers can choose an in-bed tyre carrier that can accommodate a 35-inch spare tyre, but the Terra truck can only accommodate a 33-inch spare below.

According to the brand, the range of the Scout SUV and pickup will be 560 kilometres for all-electric models and 800 kilometres for range-extended models. The 800-volt architecture is the foundation of the battery-electric vehicle (BEV). This design makes it possible to charge quickly.
