The Skoda Kushaq in the left-hand drive is now being produced by Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Private Limited for sale to foreign countries. First, to be released as part of the brand's India 2.0 initiative was the Kushaq, which was followed by the Volkswagen Taigun, Skoda Slavia, and Volkswagen Virtus.

Currently, available models of the Skoda Kushaq include Active, Ambition, Ambition Classic, Style, and Monte Carlo. It made its debut in June of last year. A tire pressure monitoring system and an idle start/stop function were included as standard features for all variations of the mid-size SUV last month.

There are two petrol powertrains available for the Kushaq. The first has a 1.0-litre TSI engine that produces 115PS and 178 Nm of torque. The latter is the more powerful 1.5-litre TSI engine, which produces a maximum torque of 250Nm and 50PS. 6-speed manual, 6-speed automatic, and 7-speed DSG transmissions are available.

The Volkswagen Taigun, the first in a line of cars constructed on the MQB-A0-IN platform, was the first model that SAVWIPL started exporting back in February. In March 2022, the Group also celebrated a significant achievement in its India journey: in its production sites in Pune and Aurangabad, India, it had manufactured 15,00,000 units. With 52,700 units sold between January and June 2022, the Group had its best-ever H1 sales in India. The sales of SAVWIPL were up 200 percent year over year during the first half of 2022.

Commenting on the occasion, Piyush Arora, Managing Director of SAVWIPL said, "Since its world premiere in India last year, the ŠKODA KUSHAQ has created a strong market presence and contributed significantly to the success of the brand and the Group in India. This world-class SUV, which will soon be heading to international markets, will showcase India's manufacturing excellence on a global stage. With each new model we export, we are inching closer to our aim of making India an export hub for the VW Group globally. With its exceptional design, build quality, and performance, we are confident the KUSHAQ will enjoy phenomenal success in other markets, as well."
