Skoda lays out plans to introduce six new electric vehicles by 2026
In the most recent press conference, Skoda revealed its plans to introduce six all-new battery electric vehicles (BEV) globally by the end of 2026. The range of six models will comprise a small EV, compact EV, combi EV, space EV, and the Enyaq. Skoda aims to invest 5.6 billion euros in electric mobility by 2027.
Skoda six new EVs
Out of all six models, the compact EV will go on sale as the Elroq in 2024. Measuring 4.50 meters in length, the Elroq will be the all-electric successor of the Karoq. Further, the sub-compact SUV, dubbed the small, will be the all-electric entry-level model from Skoda priced around €25,000. It will measure 4.10 meters in length with a boot space similar to the Scala. The "small" EV will be manufactured at Volkswagen Group's Spain facility and will debut sometime in 2025.
Moreover, Skoda will introduce the new generation Enyaq and Enyaq Coupe in 2025. The models will bear a new "Modern Solid design language", which was first showcased with the Vision 7S.
In addition to the small SUV EV and Elroq, there will be a combi EV measuring approximately 4.70 meters. With an unveiling scheduled for 2026, it will be the first all-electric estate car from the carmaker. It will be similar to the Octavia Estate. Notably, the combi EV will play a key role among the four all-new offerings, says Skoda.
Last but not least, the space EV will be the largest Skoda ever with a global debut slated for 2026. It will be the production version of the Vision 7S, offering a length of 4.90 meters with a seven-seat layout.
Skoda India plans
Skoda Auto India plans to commence its electrification journey in India with the all-electric Enyaq iV. The automaker is expected to introduce the EV sometime in the financial year 2023-24. At first, Skoda will bring the Enyaq iV to the country as a Completely Built Unit (CBU). Built on the Volkswagen Group's MEB architecture, the Enyaq is available in a wide range of trim levels, including rear-wheel and all-wheel drive setup options. Skoda also offers it with the top-of-the-range vRS trim.
