Sona Comstar achieves 350 million gears production mark
Sona BLW Precision Forgings Ltd. (Sona Comstar), a pioneer in the world of automotive technological solutions, has produced 350 million gears. Precision forged differential gears were first produced in their Gurgaon, Haryana, factory in 1999, and production at the Pune plant followed in 2005.
From its operations in India, presently, Sona Comstar services seven of the world's top-10 PV OEMs, three of the world's top-10 CV OEMs, seven of the world's top-10 tractor OEMs, five of the world's top-15 EV OEMs and four of the top-15 Indian e2Ws OEMs.
The differential gear market share for Sona Comstar climbed from 5 percent in 2020 to 7.2 percent in 2022. With a market share of between 60 and 90 percent across all vehicle categories, the business is still the industry leader in India for differential gears. The firm reached the milestone of producing 150 million gears in 2015 and 250 million in 2020. The subsequent milestone of producing 100 million gears was reached in just three years, demonstrating the company's rapid expansion.
