Spec comparison: Lamborghini Urus S vs Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT vs Audi RS Q8

Lamborghini has launched the new Urus S in India with prices starting at Rs 4.18 crore (ex-showroom). Surprisingly, it is cheaper only by Rs four lakh than the track-oriented Urus Performante. However, how does it stack up with the likes of the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT and Audi RS Q in India? Let us find out.

To begin with, the newly launched Urus S is a 3,996cc, twin-turbocharged V8 petrol mill married to an eight-speed automatic transmission. This engine is capable of generating 666PS and 850Nm of torque. With this staggering power output and DIN kerb weight of 2,197kg, the Urus S can spring to 100kmph from a standstill in just 3.5 seconds, while it takes 12.5 seconds to complete 0-200kmph. The S provides a top speed of 305kmph.

The Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is one of the closest rivals of the Urus S and it gets also a 3,996cc, bi-turbo, V8 petrol engine delivering 640PS and 850Nm of torque. It is coupled to an eight-speed Tiptronic S automatic transmission with shift-by-wire technology. This top-rung Cayenne can go from zero to 100kmph in 3.3 seconds (with the Sport Chrono package), whereas it reaches 200kmph in just 12.2 seconds. The coupe SUV tops out at 300kmph. Meanwhile, the unladen DIN weight of the Cayenne Turbo GT is rated at 2,220kg.

On the other hand, the Audi RS Q8 is powered by a twin-turbo 3,996cc V8 petrol motor that makes 600PS and 800Nm of torque. This engine comes paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. With an unladen weight of 2,315kg, the sporty RS Q8 can achieve zero to 100kmph in 3.8 seconds. The RS Q8 provides an electronically limited top speed of 250kmph, however, that can be increased to 305kmph with an optional RS Dynamic Package Plus.

The new Lamborghini Urus S measures 5,112mm in length, 2,018mm in width, and 1,638mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,003mm. Whereas, the Porsche Cayenne Turbo GT is 4,942mm long, 1,995mm wide, and 1,636mm tall. It has a wheelbase of 2,895mm. In terms of dimensions, Audi's RS Q8 measures 5,012mm in length, 1,998mm in width, and 1,694mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,998mm.

Lamborghini has equipped the Urus S with an all-wheel drive system. In addition, it features a 440mm front and 370mm rear carbon ceramic disc brake setup. The former has 10-cylinder monoblock callipers, while the latter has single-cylinder floating callipers. Moreover, the Urus S is outfitted with adaptive air suspension.

Porsche has bestowed the Cayenne Turbo GT with adaptive air suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM), an active anti-roll system, Porsche Dynamic Chassis Control (PDCC), twin titanium exhaust pipes, and an adaptive rear spoiler. It comes equipped with 440mm and 410mm carbon ceramic disc brakes at the front and rear, respectively. Whereas, Audi has given the RS Q8 quattro all-wheel drive system, rear sport differential, active roll stabilisation, and 48V mild hybrid functionality. Notably, most performance-oriented equipment, such as carbon ceramic brakes, are available as optional extras.

The Urus S comes with a sticker price of 4.18 crore, while the Cayenne Turbo GT costs Rs 2.57 crore and RS Q8 is priced at Rs 2.22 crore (all prices ex-showroom).
