Mercedes-Benz India has launched the fifth-gen 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class in India. The new sedan from Mercedes will renew its rivalry with the Audi A4 and BMW 3 series. Let's see how these three luxury sedans compete against each other.

Mercedes Benz C-Class Vs Audi A4 Vs BMW 3-series: Powertrains

The C 200 gets a 1.5-litre turbo-petrol putting out 204PS and 300 Nm, the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C 220d has a 2.0-litre diesel with 200PS and 440 Nm while C 300d AMG Line uses a higher tune of the same engine making 265 PS and 550 Nm. The BMW 3 Series is available with two engine options including a 2-litre, four-cylinder petrol motor and a 2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine. The former is capable of producing 255PS and 400Nm of torque, while the latter is tuned to produce 188PS and 400Nm of torque. Also on offer is the M340i which is powered by a 3.0-litre, six-cylinder petrol engine that produces 382PS and 500Nm of torque. The Audi A4 is only offered with petrol power that produces 188PS and 320Nm.

The interiors of the 2022 Mercedes-Benz C-Class have also been modelled around that of the current S-Class, dominated by the large 11.9-inch vertical touchscreen, the high-mounted airvents and the T-shaped dash design with the cascading fascia. Notable features include the latest NTG7 MBUX with wireless phone pairing, voice commands, 3D Maps and OTA updates. The new MBUX is also equipped with Car-to-X communications. There is a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, dual-zone climate control, electric adjustment for the front seats and steering wheel and wireless charging.

Inside, the Audi A4 gets the new 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 12.3-inch virtual cockpit, and an updated version of Audi's MMI user interface. The Audi A4 get eight airbags, ABS with EBD, Traction control and TPMS. The BMW 3 Series comes equipped with features such as an 8.8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with the 7.0 iDrive system, a fully digital instrument console, three-zone climate control, sunroof, ambient lighting, drive modes, and electric seats. The model receives safety features in the form of six airbags, ABS with EBD, ESP, CBC, DSC, TPMS, and TPMS.

The BMW 3 series range starts from Rs 46.90 lakh onwards and a range-topping car will set you back Rs 65.90 lakh. The Audi A4 is priced at Rs 40.49 lakh and the Mercedes Benz C-class being the latest one here, starts from Rs 55 lakh and goes up to Rs 61 lakh for a top model.
