Super Trofeo race cancelled after fatal accident at Paul Ricard circuit
Automobili Lamborghini has cancelled the ongoing Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race in memory of Italian driver Andrea Mam who died yesterday in a five-car collision at the start of the race at the Paul Ricard circuit, France.

All the five drivers involved in the accident were rushed to the medical centre for immediate attention. In a statement, organisers of the popular one-make racing series said that Mam was grievously hurt in the crash and succumbed to his injuries.
"On behalf of Automobili Lamborghini, president and CEO Stephan Winkelmann expresses his personal sadness and extended the condolences of all the company to Andrea's family and team," said organisers in a company statement on Monday.
The four other drivers who received medical attention following the accident were Andrea Solimè, car #10, Vaclav Petch, car #77, Tomas Kral, car #88 and Dario Cerati, car #33.
Vaclav Petch, Tomas Kral and Dario Cerati were released from the medical centre after precautionary checks. Andrea Solimè was airlifted to the Hopital Sainte Musse in Toulon where he is conscious and talking, with no fractures or visible injuries, but his condition will continue to be monitored by doctors for the rest of the day, a company statement said on Monday.
"The Lamborghini Blancpain Super Trofeo race has been cancelled with the unanimous support of Andrea's fellow competitors. As of now, the cause of the accident wasn't clear. Automobili Lamborghini will be working with the circuit authorities and SRO to investigate the accident thoroughly in all its aspects," the statement added.
Andea Mam was born in Milan and was the chairman and CEO of the Mame Group he founded in 2009. Apart from racing, he enjoyed hunting and deep-sea diving.
