Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid debuts in Indonesia

The Maruti Suzuki Ertiga has been on sale in India for the longest time and in all fairness, it remains unchallenged by any other manufacturer in its segment. Suzuki has now introduced the Suzuki Ertiga Cruise Hybrid at the Indonesia International Motor Show giving the beloved MPV a mild-hybrid powertrain.

Yes, the Ertiga is already available in India with a mild hybrid motor, but the Crusie Hybrid gets a bigger 10Ah battery pack that is paired with the same 1.5-litre petrol engine. This powertrain continues to provide 104PS and 138Nm of torque, but it claims fuel efficiency that exceeds the Ertiga's figure of slightly more than 20kmpl in India.

The Ertiga Cruise distinguishes itself with sportier styling, including a shorter antenna, stylish front and rear bumpers with under spoilers, a side body decal, a rear upper spoiler, and, most significantly, LED DRLs, which are lacking on the ordinary Ertiga. The Ertiga Cruise Hybrid is available in just two colour options: Pearl White + Cool Black dual tone and Cool Black.

On the inside, Suzuki has selected an all-black interior with a semi-digital instrument cluster and an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The centre console cup holders are ventilated, and the MPV includes cruise control, automatic climate control, a 3-spoke steering wheel and a second-row armrest.

We're not sure if Maruti Suzuki will bring this Ertiga Cruise Hybrid to India though. The car uses the K15B Smart Hybrid engine and currently, only the ageing Ciaz uses this powertrain in India. We're almost pretty sure the current generation of the Ciaz won't receive any further updates so it seems very unlikely that Maruti Suzuki to bring this mild-hybrid setup to our shores.
