Tata Altroz CNG launched in India, prices start from Rs 7.55 lakh

Tata Motors has officially introduced the Altroz i-CNG, with pricing beginning at Rs 7.55 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. Bookings for the new car, which comes in six variants, began last month for Rs 21,000. The hatchback is offered in XE, XM+ XM+ (S), XZ, XZ+ (S) and XZ+ O (S) trims.

Tata Altroz CNG Prices and Variants:

Tata Altroz CNG XE: Rs 7.55 lakh

Tata Altroz CNG XM+: Rs 8.40 lakh

Tata Altroz CNG XM+(S): Rs 8.85 lakh

Tata Altroz CNG XZ: Rs 9.53 lakh

Tata Altroz CNG XZ+(S): Rs 10.03 lakh

Tata Altroz CNG XZ+O(S): Rs 10.55 lakh

Altroz' CNG kit is coupled to the same 1.2-litre NA petrol powerplant seen in the Tigor CNG. The CNG production is 73PS and 103Nm, which is significantly less than the 86PS and 113Nm of the petrol output. There is just one five-speed manual gearbox option. Furthermore, unlike its competitors, the Altroz can be turned on in CNG mode.

Unlike a single 60-litre tank of CNG, the Altroz iCNG features two separate 30-litre CNG tanks. This twin-tank setup is located under the boot floor. As a result, it offers more space for luggage, reportedly up to 210 litres.

Cruise control, iRA-linked car technology, cruise control, rear AC vents, automatic temperature control, and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto compatibility will be standard on the Altroz iCNG. It also features a sunroof and a wireless phone charging pad. The safety kit is unchanged and continues with dual airbags, ABS with EBD and rear parking sensors with a camera.

Customers will be able to pick from four monotone colours: Avenue White, Arcade Grey, Downtown Red, and Opera Blue, as well as three dual-tone options: Avenue White with a black roof, Downtown Red with a black roof, and Opera Blue with a black roof.

The Tata Altroz CNG competes against the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno CNG and Toyota Glanza CNG.
