Tata Altroz Racer: Variants explained
Tata Motors has taken the wraps off the new Altroz Racer and the new hot hatch is priced at Rs 9.49 lakh to 10.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The Altroz Racer is offered in R1, R2 and R3 variants and will only be available with a manual transmission.
The most significant difference between the standard Altroz and the Altroz Racer is its new engine borrowed from the Nexon - a 1.2-litre, inline three-cylinder, turbocharged petrol engine producing 120PS at 5,500rpm and 170Nm of torque at 4,000rpm. Unlike the 5-speed manual found in the regular Altroz, the Racer will get a 6-speed transmission. Tata has also fitted the Racer with a sporty exhaust.
