Tata Motors is all set to launch the Curvv EV on August 7 and just a few weeks before its grand launch, details regarding the vehicle's battery capacity have been leaked. The Curvv will pioneer a new segment of SUVs for the Indian market and will be available in EV, petrol as well as diesel guise.

Tata Curvv EV: Battery & Range

Just like the other EV offerings from Tata, the Curvv EV will also be offered in Standard and Long Range models. The Standard battery is expected to be the same 40.5kWh battery pack that is found in the Long Range Nexon EV. The Nexon EV LR has an ARAI range of 465 kilometres on a full charge so we expect the Curvv EV to have a similar driving range to that.

The Long Range Curvv on the other hand though will have a 55kWh battery pack and an expected driving range of approximately 600 kilometres on a full charge. Both models will also have a single electric motor powering the front wheels and support DC fast charging. More details regarding the specifications of the Curvv EV will disclosed on August 7.

Tata Cruvv EV: Interior & Features

The Curvv's cabin bears similarities to the Nexon, Harrier, and Safari. The interior features a new steering wheel with an illuminated Tata logo, a capacitive touch panel for air conditioning, a Range Rover-inspired gear selector, and an electronic parking brake with auto hold.

Previously leaked details suggest that Tata will equip the Curvv EV with a panoramic sunroof with mood lighting, a 10.25-inch all-digital instrument panel with on-screen maps, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Arcade.EV and third-party app support, a nine-speaker JBL sound system, powered and ventilated front seats, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, and a wireless charging pad.

The feature list could also include a 360-degree camera, iRA 2.0 connected car tech, four-disc brakes, parking sensors at both ends, six airbags, ESP, Level 2 autonomy with driver drowsiness detection, drive modes telematics, hill hold and descent control, ISOFIX child anchor points, automatic headlamps and wipers, vehicle-to-load (V2L) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) capabilities, LED headlights and taillights with welcome and goodbye animations, puddle lamps, a blind spot monitor, a 45W USB Type-C socket, and more.

The prices of the Curvv EV are expected to range between Rs 16-18 lakh and go up to Rs 22-24 lakh. Once launched, the Curvv EV will compete with the MG ZS EV and BYD Atto 3.
